Who You Are
As our Applications Engineer you will provide technical support to the integrators and end users in the FANUC America Corporation (FAC) Central region* including developing, training, and strengthening customers’ technical skills. You will manage, organize, and administer high level software & controls expertise while assisting FANUC District Managers with various sales support requests to enable continued regional unit and profit growth.
You must be a customer-focused problem-solver with a “Service First” mindset who has a background in automation and/or robotics engineering.
*Including but not limited to Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine.
How It’s Done
- Identify and visit key, new, or competitor ASI and End User accounts in the region
- Build and strengthen relationships with regional ASI network and regional end users to improve robot sales through training, technology transfer, and application assistance both in-house and on-site; develop a deep understanding of the ASIs products, customers, and goals
- Work as part of the Central execution team to ensure success of projects and product sales
- Guide internal and external customers by providing product and system expertise in robot hardware and software, machine vision, and system safety
- Apply robotic automation solutions with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FANUC simulation software
- Promote the use of ROBOGUIDE, Payload Checker and other pre-engineering tools
- Work with all customers to address issues associated with the setup and integration of both common and higher-end robot options
- Provide detailed resolutions by tracking and documenting support requests
- Support customers with Vision Evaluations and troubleshooting existing iRVision systems
- Accompany sales team on sales calls when a high level of technical support is required
- Provide emergency technical support when needed
- Overnight travel as required throughout the US potentially up to 50% of the time
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in the engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation systems
- Ability to read electrical and controls prints
- Experience collaborating with both engineering and non-engineering groups (i.e. Sales)
- Must be able to legally drive throughout the regional area for business as required

FANUC America is seeking a qualified applicant for an Engineer role. The pay range for this position is $83,716 - $135,062 per year. The pay range listed is based on both salary and other compensation, including bonuses and profit sharing, that an employee may be paid during their employment with FANUC America.
A compensation package offered to a successful applicant will ultimately be determined by consideration of a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, an applicant’s geographic location, educational attainment, and level of experience.
