Catering Assistant

The Catering Assistant will execute with accuracy all catered events to the campus and community of Grinnell College.

Our full-time employees enjoy great health insurance, paid vacation/sick time, Dental/Vision/STD/LTD and Life insurance, along with 403B contribution. All hours worked past 6pm weekdays and all hours on Sat/Sun earn a $2.00 per hour shift premium.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare food items/refreshments for various catered events on campus
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
• Set-up, organization, teardown and cleaning of the catering areas
• Transport and set-up catered functions, including loading and unloading catering vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months or less experience
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented
• Willingness to learn and take initiative

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior catering experience
