About the role

About the Position: This position is located within the Guthrie Army Health Clinic at Fort Drum, New York in the Patient Administration Division within the Guthrie Army Health Clinic. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Receive and screen incoming correspondence from patients, civilian providers, and other military treatment facilities.

Verify patient eligibility, determine proper patient classification, and register beneficiaries in the electronic record system.

Update patient demographics, insurance, and healthcare profile to ensure correct access to care, pharmacy, and appointments.

Serve as HIPAA compliance officer conducting audits, data quality checks, and coordinating HIPAA investigations with MEDDAC.

Review and respond to Release of Information (ROI) requests, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and FOIA.

Extract medical information and prepare correspondence for external requests including VA, Disability Determination, insurers, and legal entities

Process and track paper and electronic medical records, including requests, retrieval, copying, and retirement of hard-copy records.

Perform audits of medical records for documentation accuracy, billing compliance, and participate in monthly DHA data quality reporting.

Review and correct patient profile data in electronic health systems, reporting data quality issues and trends at DQ meetings.
