Compensation is structured based on licensure and scope of practice, with fully licensed clinical therapists eligible for higher starting pay due to independent practice authority and expanded clinical responsibilities.

What You'll Do

  1. Conduct initial Assessment and Evaluation Services following all agency policy and procedures as well as the Dartmouth Assertive Community Treatment Scale (DACTS). 
  2. With input from the client, their family and other members of the treatment team develop and document treatment goals and plan related services and activities. Monitor and document progress and concerns adjusting the person-centered plan as needed.
  3. Provide individual, group and/or family therapy consistent with treatment and identified therapeutic needs of the client. Therapists will follow Evidence Based Treatment models or curriculum for treatment of clients whenever possible. These include but are not limited to Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, etc. 
  4. Work with a multi-disciplinary team to assist clients in overcoming barriers to treatment. May be assigned to work from various office or community locations as part of a team approach.
  5. Within the scope of experience, fill in for co-workers to cover team needs. Complete state required trainings for both therapy and case management tasks.
  6. Show assertive outreach to engage consumers.
  7. Work to improve outcomes including hospitalization reduction, increased housing stability, and improvement in overall client quality of life for ACT consumers.
  8. Provide outreach, education, support, referral to services and connection of resources to the consumer and or their family.
  9. Within scope of knowledge, provide resources and education to the client and their family about mental illness or serious emotional disturbances upon request. 
  10. Provide services in the community where the consumer may need them, this could include but is not limited to school, work, home, shelter, store, etc. Provide transportation for clients to medically necessary appointments such as but not limited to medication checks, therapy and doctor’s appointments.
  11. Drive to community settings for the delivery of services.
  12. Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision and daily program staffing. Provide input to supervisors and other treatment team members regarding clinical and program issues.
  13. Attend meetings that support their job functions as requested by their supervisor. This could include but not limited to agency meetings, committee meetings or community meetings. 
  14. Meet and comply with all documentation requirements as directed by policy and their supervisor. This would include but not limited to requirements for progress notes, log notes, assessments, evaluations, treatment planning, screenings, agency required data reporting, and discharge paperwork.
  15. Meet direct service expectations and comply with other established productivity standards as established.
  16. Complete agency, state and federally required trainings related to job description, agency guidelines and evidence-based practices. This is required at the first available opportunity.
  17. Take on call shifts after hours and on weekends.
  18. Enter and maintain own clinical schedule in the agency electronic health record.
  19. Work agreed upon hours and schedule as outlined in the signed job offer letter unless otherwise approved by a supervisor.
  20. Remote Eligible: Position may perform regularly scheduled work remotely while remaining subject to onsite requirements for meetings, trainings, client needs, or other operational needs. Remote work is only with permission from the Supervisor or Community Services Director and not a regular occurrence.
  21. Adhere to the standards, policies and instructions established by PMHS Policy and Procedure and any applicable ethical codes within field of employment. 
  22. Demonstrate sensitivity to all cultural and ethnic differences.
  23. Adhere to state and federal HIPAA regulations and professional codes of ethics.
  24. Review and comply with the Pawnee Code of Conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  25. Achieve expected engagement rate as defined by DACTS.
  26. Work cooperatively with the Management Team and other members of the staff in sharing resources and expertise in pursuit of the agency's mission.
  27. Perform all other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
  28. Maintain advanced knowledge and skills related to field of work through continuing education per state licensing requirements.

Requirements

  Required: 

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology or closely related field. The education degree shall be from an accredited institution. 
  • Licensed by the BSRB of the State of Kansas in their field of education. This could include temporary License.
  • Willing to obtain licensed by the BSRB of the State of Kansas as an Addictions Counselor if not already licensed. 
  • Basic Computer skills needed for electronic communication, tele-video therapy services and data entry into electronic chart.
  • A valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)

Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks and drug screening must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.

Preferred:

  • · Previous training and experience with Evidence Based Treatment practices that apply to client base.
  • ·  Licensed by the BSRB of the State of Kansas as an Addictions Counselor.
