About the role

The Regional Director (RD) of Field Ministry serves to fulfill the FCA vision by supporting the Regional Vice President through developing and leading the Field ministry staff. The RD of Field Ministry will help create unity and synergy among the Regional Leadership Team. The RD of Field Ministry models the FCA values of Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.

The RD of Field Ministry provides support to the regional field staff by leveraging systems, processes, opportunities, resources, and training. This position is responsible for submitting the annual budget for all expenses as assigned by the supervisor. Additionally, the RD of Field Ministry will manage and steward the finances for the assigned area of responsibility. The budget should be funded through Home Team, along with Major Donors and Events.

MINISTERIAL DUTIES

These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission, and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the field ministry staff and helps them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
  • Implement the Lederer's Journey model of Lead Self, Lead Others, Lead Teams and Lead Organizationally.

Lead Self

  • Love God with all their heart, mind, soul and strength.
  • Study the Word of God, obey it and teach it.
  • Pursue harmony by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and mind.
  • Grow biblically, doctrinally, theologically and spiritually.
  • Ensure the staff are leading self with the understanding of the H.E.A.R.T. of leadership:
    • Hunger for wisdom.
    • Expect the best.

    • Respond with courage.
    • Think others first.

Lead Others

  • Grow the region by ensuring staff are identifying and recruiting diverse men and women who are called by God to reach coaches and athletes.
  • Implement the hiring process throughout the region to ensure effective onboarding.
  • Responsible for training and developing of staff in all areas for their assigned role.
  • Ensure staff are leading others well by applying the S.E.R.V.E. model:
    • See the future.
    • Engage and develop others.
    • Reinvent continuously.
    • Value results and relationships.
    • Embody the FCA values.

Lead Teams

  • Grow the region through effective teams.
  • Ensure each Director has a healthy Leadership Board.
  • Implements the Four Essentials of leading teams: recruiting talent + growing skills + building community = results

Lead Organizationally

  • Responsible for leading FCA as Christ-centered, world-class ministry.
  • Ensures staff are implementing the 4 Moves needed to lead FCA:
    • the first move...bet on leadership
    • the second move...act as one
    • the third move...win the heart
    • the fourth move...excel at execution
