Sample & Product Coordinator

Steve Madden Apparel is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Sample & Product Coordinator to join our product development/design team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone eager to build a career in fashion apparel, offering hands-on exposure to product development, design, marketing, and sales operations. You'll be the connective tissue ensuring sample accuracy, timely communication of design changes, and seamless execution across photo shoots, showrooms, and account needs.

• Partner closely with the marketing team to support PDP (Product Detail Page) photo shoots, ensuring the correct samples and specs are provided

• Attend photo shoots as needed to confirm styling, fit, and overall presentation align with direction set by the Creative Director

• Assist sales with the setup and organization of showrooms for market weeks and buyer appointments

• Support general administrative and organizational needs within the product development/ design department.

• Track, organize, and maintain sales samples throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring samples are accounted for and accessible when needed

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of design and style changes across all seasons

• Cross-check that any style being photographed for web or campaign use reflects the most current, approved design details — flagging and correcting discrepancies before shoots

Desired Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Design, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with design, marketing, and sales teams

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular); experience with PLM systems a plus but not required

• A genuine interest in fashion, apparel, and product development

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $26-31/hour. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
