About the role

  1. Operational Execution & Service Delivery
    • Oversee daily execution of pharmacy operational activities across all assigned lines of business.
    • Ensure operational tasks, deliverables, and service expectations are completed accurately and within established timelines.
    • Support implementation of benefit changes, operational initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify and address operational risks, gaps, and process breakdowns.
  2. Team Leadership & Work Management
    • Direct and prioritize workload across Pharmacy Operations staff.
    • Monitor team capacity, resource allocation, and operational performance.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop team members through performance management and ongoing feedback.
    • Support employee development, cross-training, and career progression opportunities.
  3. Benefit Administration & Operational Readiness
    • Oversee benefit configuration, testing, validation, and implementation activities.
    • Ensure operational readiness for pharmacy-related initiatives and benefit changes.
    • Coordinate with internal departments and vendors to support successful implementation efforts.
    • Escalate issues requiring strategic direction or executive support.
  4. Member Experience & Communications Support
    • Ensure operational processes support a positive member and pharmacy experience.
    • Coordinate review and execution of pharmacy-related communications.
    • Support identification and remediation of member-impacting operational issues.
    • Monitor trends and feedback to drive continuous improvement opportunities.
  5. Cross-Functional Coordination & Issue Resolution
    • Partner with Trend Management, Pharmacy Solutions, and Pharmacy Performance to support enterprise initiatives and issue resolution.
    • Coordinate operational responses to escalated issues affecting members, pharmacies, providers, and/or internal stakeholders.
    • Support governance forums and provide updates on operational readiness, risks, and progress.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with key internal departments and external partners.
  6. Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.

  1. Bachelor's degree and five years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  2. Experience in pharmacy operations, healthcare operations, or a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) environment.
  3. Three years of previous supervisory/management experience or six years of previous leadership experience.
  4. Experience supporting pharmacy benefit implementation, operational readiness, and/or member-facing pharmacy programs.
  5. Experience working with PBMs and external pharmacy vendors.
  6. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  7. Proficiency in development and execution of operational workflows.
  8. Proficiency in problem solving and data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  9. Proficiency in development and execution of operational process flows
  10. Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook.
