The Muskogee Veterans Affairs is currently recruiting for a General Dentist. As a General Dentist you will provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting to an adult patient population with a high percentage of acute and chronic medical conditions.

All Dentists will provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting to an adult patient population with a high percentage of acute and chronic medical conditions. Dentists report directly to the Lead Dentist, or Assistant Dental Chief at their clinic. Duties: 1. Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity 2. Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions 3. Administer local anesthesia 4. Perform routine and complex restorations of teeth 5. Perform simple and complex extractions of teeth 6. Perform alveoplasty and other routine surgical procedures 7. Perform prosthetic dentistry to include immediate dentures, full dentures, partial dentures, crowns, and fixed bridgework. 8. Perform routine endodontic procedures on single and multi-canal teeth 9. Perform routine and surgical periodontal procedures 10. Provides collaboration with dental staff assigned to their clinic location 11. Responsible for clinic administration in compliance with VHA, Medical Center, and Dental Service Directives, Policies, and Procedures 12. Assists supervisor in everyday activities and requirements of the dental service 13. Has the ability to use Vista Applications when appropriate VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
