Job Summary

The Sanitation Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all sanitation operations across multiple food processing facilities within the organization. This senior-level position involves developing and implementing company-wide sanitation strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Sanitation Manager plays a critical role in maintaining food safety standards, optimizing sanitation processes, and contributing to the overall operational excellence of the organization.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sanitation strategies and policies for all facilities
  • Oversee sanitation supervisors and teams across multiple locations
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, OSHA standards, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate sanitation strategies into overall business objectives
  • Develop and manage multi-facility sanitation budgets, including capital expenditure planning
  • Implement and oversee company-wide sanitation audit and quality assurance programs
  • Analyze cross-facility sanitation metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead high-level investigations into sanitation-related issues and implement systemic solutions
  • Manage relationships with key vendors and negotiate contracts for sanitation supplies and equipment
  • Develop and maintain company-wide standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all sanitation activities
  • Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory discussions related to sanitation
  • Drive innovation in sanitation processes, including the adoption of new technologies and methodologies
  • Oversee training and development programs for all sanitation personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in food processing sanitation, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation best practices
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-site operations
  • Excellent planning and budget management abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics
  • Experience with enterprise-level sanitation management systems and CMMS

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in food safety or sanitation management
  • Experience with implementing advanced sanitation technologies across multiple facilities
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Work Environment

This position involves a mix of strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on problem-solving across multiple facilities. The Sanitation Manager will spend time in office settings for planning and reporting, but must also be comfortable in production environments for audits and process evaluations. Significant travel (up to 50%) may be required to oversee operations at various locations. The role demands flexibility to address sanitation emergencies or participate in critical audits, potentially requiring work outside standard business hours.
