Supervisory Firefighter

About the Position: Serves as a Company Officer for assigned Fire Stations. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. Click here for more information on SRC for Firefighters (Secondary)

You will assign work and/or crew assignment based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.

You will assume command of assigned fire crews until relieved by a senior fire officer.

You will direct the placement of equipment, personnel, application of fire extinguishing agents and rescue of personnel.

You will perform firefighting duties such as handling hose, performing rescue operations, extinguishing fire, performing as a HAZ/MAT team member, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency first aid as required.

You will ensure personnel and equipment are in a constant state of readiness for immediate response to firefighting and rescue operations.
