Let’s Talk About Your Qualifications:

Requirements:          

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills, such as data entry, email/written correspondence
• Basic math skills
• Relevant license and training required within 8 months of hire date
• 1 or more years of related experience, on the job or informal training preferred
• Use of common tools preferred
• Knowledge of automated machinery preferred
• Hold current relevant licenses and training required for job preferred
• Associates degree preferred

About the Role:

• Keeps accurate data and performs sample tests to obtain precise moisture content in the lumber
• Checks for accuracy of stacked lumber
• Collects data on the computer
• Performs daily PM’s on air compressor, wet bulb wicks, and monitor vents.
• Services kilns and performs preventative maintenance on kiln motors monthly.
• Assists in some maintenance operations on occasion
• Ensure all duties are performed in a safe manner, and meets WWP safety standards.
• Performs work at a quality level consistent with Wabash National Standard Practice.
• Required to perform other duties as assigned.

Your Responsibilities:

• Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
• Monitor/assess the performance of self, associates, or departments to make improvements or recommend corrective action
• Adjust actions concerning others’ actions
• Talk to associates to convey information effectively
• Train associates in operational procedures
• Monitor work areas or procedures to ensure compliance with safety procedures
• Complete daily status updates to include but not limited to a five-minute meeting/ stretches and assign daily responsibilities based on scheduling and attendance needs
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
• Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
• Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email, or in person
• Identify informat6in by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events and disseminating that as needed
• Schedule repair, installation, or maintenance activities
• Order materials, supplies, or equipment
• Accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations
• Willing to lead, take charge, and offer opinions, coaching and direction
• Maintain composure, keep emotions controlled, avoid anger and aggressive behavior, even in a very difficult situation
• Make decisions with creativity and autonomy

Physical Demands:

• Requires minimum of 9-10 hours standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, with a full range of body mechanics/movements.
• Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of stairs and climbing in and out of trucks or working in tight spaces.
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)

Working Conditions and Environment:

The work environment includes exposure to high decibels of noise, temperature, weather variations, metal welding processes and chemicals, which may include solvents, undercoating, paint, and caulking. Fast paced environment with moving equipment and motorized vehicles running at all times.
