About the role

This position is located within Environmental Management Services (EMS). The primary purpose of this position is to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in supporting and performing tasks (e.g., environment of care, textile distribution and training) associated with the EMS goals and objectives.

The position is a Housekeeping Aid Supervisor under the direct supervision of the Chief, EMS or designee and has supervisory authority over multiple employees to include a combination of WG-1 and WG-2 Housekeeping Aids, WL-1 and WL-2 Work Leaders, and others as assigned. The position is delegated responsibility for assigning staff for routine and non-routine duties on a daily and a project-by-project basis. Non-routine duties require that the position reorganize work schedules efficiently to ensure work is accomplished in a timely manner. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Following oral and written instructions, interpreting policies and work procedures as given by the supervisor Keeping supervisor informed about significant trends, changing conditions, and major problem areas Coordinating work with supervisors of other services within the positions area of jurisdiction so as not to interrupt patient care or other activities Instructing and supervising employees in work operations, conducting inspections of work in progress and completed to ensure cleaning and sanitation objectives and standards have been met Assuring the efficient and economical accomplishment of work assignments of subordinates within established policies and schedules set by higher levels of supervision Planning daily and weekly assignments, scheduling periodic work for areas of responsibility, taking into consideration the availability of personnel and equipment to meet established priorities Training staff and ensuring that they are using the patient centered care principles in terms of customer service to patients, patients' family members and personnel Inspecting assigned areas routinely, to assure the timely accomplishment of employee assignments, sanitation levels are maintained, equipment properly cared for and that associated housekeeping objectives are accomplished in an expedient and timely manner Being responsible for the maintenance, storage and safeguard of housekeeping tools, equipment, materials, and supplies Checking the work of subordinates and evaluating the work for completeness, compliance with procedures and instructions, and sanitation quality standards Instructing housekeeping employees in their duties and determining employee's individual training needs Performing other related duties as assigned Work Schedule: Multiple Shifts 1st Shift - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., with occasional weekends and holidays. Shift days will be set upon Selection. 2nd Shift - 3:30 p.m. - midnight, with occasional weekends and holidays. Shift days will be set upon Selection. 3rd Shift - 11:00 p.m. -7:30 a.m., with occasional weekends and holidays. Shift days will be set upon Selection. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
