We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our team and take responsibility for providing legal support across the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor or barrister who enjoys working closely with senior leadership and wants a broad, hands-on in-house role where their advice can have a real impact on the business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will act as the Company's principal legal adviser, providing pragmatic and commercially focused advice across a diverse range of matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial arrangements.
- Advising on intellectual property, including trademarks, copyright and software licensing.
- Supporting regulatory and compliance requirements, including Gambling Commission matters where applicable.
- Advising on data protection, cybersecurity and digital services.
- Advising on the legal and commercial implications of AI and emerging technologies.
- Supporting corporate governance and company secretarial matters.
- Managing disputes, claims and litigation, including the instruction of external solicitors.
- Supporting property and employment matters.
- Advising on international sales, licensing and distribution arrangements.
- Managing the Company's legal risk and relationships with external legal advisers.
- Supporting the CEO and senior management team on strategic and commercial decisions.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales with previous in-house experience.
- Experienced in commercial law with strong negotiating and drafting skills. .
- Highly organised, professional, commercially aware and able to balance legal risk with business objectives.
- Confident advising senior management and directors and able to build good working relationships with colleagues across the business.
- Comfortable managing a broad and varied workload independently.
- Pragmatic, solutions-focused and able to explain complex legal issues clearly.
Experience within gaming, entertainment, software, technology, licensing or leisure would be advantageous, as would knowledge of Gambling Commission requirements, intellectual property portfolios, corporate governance, international contracts or emerging technology.

The role is offered on a 32-hour, 4-day working week, with hybrid working from our Barwell Business Park location.
