Executes complex corrosion and integrity engineering activities to assess asset condition and prevent failures. Integrates inspection data, analytical methods, and operational inputs to inform mitigation plans and integrity decisions aligned to safety and compliance standards. Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes corrosion data and inspection results to identify degradation mechanisms and risk drivers.
- Develops integrity assessments and recommends mitigation strategies for corrosion-related threats.
- Designs corrosion monitoring plans tailored to asset type, environment, and operational conditions.
- Evaluates cathodic protection performance and recommends adjustments or corrective actions.
- Reviews material selection and coating system performance for repairs or new installations.
- Supports failure investigations and root cause analyses related to corrosion or material degradation.
- Prepares technical reports and presents findings to operations, engineering, and management stakeholders.
- Mentors less experienced staff on corrosion fundamentals, inspection interpretation, and integrity practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Requires a 4 year degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
- Required: Ability to assess degradation risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Required: Ability to independently evaluate non-routine corrosion or integrity concerns.
- Required: Ability to lead discrete integrity assessments or analyses with minimal oversight.
- Required: In-depth knowledge of corrosion processes affecting critical assets.
- Required: Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Required: Skill in explaining complex technical issues to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Required: Skill in interpreting inspection, monitoring, and operational data.
- Required: Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required.
