The Role
The Vice President, Global Distribution leads Hyatt’s global distribution strategy and provides enterprise oversight across owned, third-party, B2B, loyalty-enabled, and emerging digital distribution channels. This leader is accountable for profitable demand capture, optimal channel mix, rate integrity, partner governance, distribution technology enablement, and Hyatt’s visibility across the evolving travel discovery and booking ecosystem.
· Develop and execute Hyatt's long-term global distribution strategy to achieve optimal, profitable channel mix across all booking channels, with specific focus on increasing penetration through Hyatt.com, the World of Hyatt app, mobile, direct digital, metasearch, and other owned or loyalty-enabled booking paths.
· Lead Hyatt's strategy for visibility and conversion across the modern hotel-shopping journey, including search, metasearch, maps, OTA storefronts, social discovery, AI-assisted travel planning, conversational search, and emerging AI-enabled booking interfaces.
· Partner closely with Loyalty, Digital Product, Marketing, Revenue Management, Brand, and Technology teams to ensure World of Hyatt member value, exclusive rates, benefits, content, and direct-booking advantages are clearly surfaced and accurately represented across owned and third-party distribution environments.
· Develop and manage the B2B and B2C distribution account portfolio across all segments, including OTAs, GDSs, wholesalers, travel management companies, consortia, metasearch partners, affiliate partners, API-based distributors, and emerging AI-enabled travel platforms; lead new partner development through the lens of incremental demand, total contribution, direct guest relationship, loyalty enrollment, data access, operational complexity, and long-term strategic value.
· Provide oversight and final decision-making for third-party distribution relationships, both retail and wholesale, from contract development through implementation, connectivity, content quality, performance monitoring, compliance, and renewal strategy.
· Maintain enterprise focus on net revenue, total contribution, and customer acquisition cost by increasing transparency into distribution costs, commissions, media spend, loyalty economics, wholesale leakage, payment costs, cancellation behavior, and partner-funded discounts.
· Strengthen Hyatt's global approach to rate integrity, parity, member-rate visibility, wholesale controls, and unauthorized redistribution, while adapting to changing regulatory environments and evolving platform rules across regions.
· Develop, communicate, and operationalize distribution reporting, analytics, automation, and KPIs, including net rate, cost of sale, channel contribution, source-market mix, booking attribution, direct-booking penetration, loyalty contribution, content accuracy, rate integrity, and partner-level performance, so hotels and regional teams can take faster action.
· Act as primary business sponsor for distribution-related technology initiatives, including CRS/connectivity enhancements, third-party intermediary integrations, API strategy, metasearch connectivity, content syndication, machine-readable hotel content, AI/search visibility, rate and inventory controls, and system operationalization of net rates.
· Assist with new openings, conversions, and brand integrations to ensure sound distribution principles are implemented from the start, including channel setup, content readiness, rate integrity, loyalty visibility, wholesale controls, and direct-booking optimization.
· Represent Hyatt externally and monitor the evolving distribution landscape, including industry events, standards bodies, OTA strategy, metasearch economics, AI/search evolution, regulatory changes, data-access rights, privacy expectations, and emerging commercial models that may affect Hyatt's ability to own the guest relationship.
Lead and set direction for global distribution personnel, including recruiting, coaching, developing, and motivating team members with the capabilities required for a more technical, data-driven, cross-functional, and partner-oriented distribution environment.
Experience Required
· 15+ years of experience in hospitality, travel distribution, revenue management, commercial strategy, digital commerce, or other equivalent business function.
· Extensive knowledge of the hotel distribution landscape and how it relates to the hospitality industry, including direct digital, mobile app, OTAs, GDS, wholesale, metasearch, B2B, B2C, API-based connectivity, and emerging AI-assisted discovery and booking channels.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and execute global distribution strategy across third-party, B2B, B2C, web, mobile, app, loyalty-enabled, and partner distribution channels.
· Experience managing complex third-party distribution partner relationships, including contract development, implementation, connectivity, performance monitoring, commercial governance, and renewal strategy.
· Strong commercial and financial acumen, including understanding of channel mix, net revenue, cost of sale, customer acquisition cost, rate integrity, loyalty economics, and hotel profitability.
· Demonstrated ability to translate distribution data, partner performance, and market dynamics into actionable commercial strategies.
· Experience working cross-functionally with Revenue Management, Loyalty, Digital, Marketing, Technology, Legal, Operations, regional teams, and hotel leaders to drive enterprise-wide priorities.
· Excellent communication, influence, project management, and stakeholder alignment skills in a complex global environment.
· Effective people manager and coach with experience leading, recruiting, developing, and motivating high-performing global or cross-functional teams.
Experience Preferred:
· Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, marketing, technology, analytics, finance, or a related field.
· Advanced degree or professional certifications in hospitality, revenue management, digital commerce, distribution, analytics, or related disciplines.
· Experience supporting new hotel openings, conversions, or brand integrations with distribution planning, channel setup, content readiness, loyalty visibility, and implementation.
