About the role

About the Position: Serves as Program Lead and subject matter expert for the Real Estate Program. Conducts continuing review, analysis, and evaluation of the effectiveness and accomplishments of the real estate program of the Command through review of reports, correspondence, studies, projects and audit information. Directs, coordinates, collects, inputs and interprets Mission Critical data for the District and Major Subordinate Command (MSC).

Coordinates the legal and statutory aspects of the M and D activities with: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) attorneys; other government attorneys; and private attorneys, and gathers supporting data.

Out-grants government-owned lands for industrial, recreational, commercial, agricultural, residential and other purposes through negotiation and/or formal advertising.

Negotiates with companies concerning abilities for easements governing right-of-way on government lands for roadways, highways, pipelines, electric and communication lines and others.

Represents the Real Estate Division within the District's governance processes to establish the Management and Disposal resource requirements necessary to execute the District's real estate mission.

Analyzes proposed plans such as commercial, industrial, recreational, etc. Investigates and evaluates the financial and technical abilities of bidders, capability of meeting and maintaining government requirements and standards.

Takes necessary action to dispose of government-owned land and improvements which are excess to project requirements, including circularization to other government agencies or their possible needs.
