Regional Director of International Advancement
About the role
The Regional Director of International Advancement (RDIA) serves as the primary liaison between a U.S. Region and its aligned global region or division leadership. The RDIA is responsible for advancing FCA's international strategy by equipping, mobilizing and engaging U.S. regional leadership, staff, volunteers, donors, and constituents to pray for, give to, and participate in global ministry.This role ensures alignment with FCA's global engagement practices, supports international trips, and cultivates strong partnerships between U.S. and global leadership.
MINISTERIAL DUTIES
These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.
- Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
- Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
- Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
- Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational Alignment
- Ensure FCA's international strategy and global engagement processes are consistently followed within the U.S. region.
- Maintain working knowledge and insight on FCA's global ministry engagement practices, protocols, systems, and resources to inform and update the U.S. regions.
- Support and implement organizational decisions related to FCA's global engagement, including global initiatives and campaigns (e.g., To See the World).
- Encourae and inspire U.S. regional staff to embrace FCA's vision of being a global ministry.
- Support and collaborate with the Director of Trips to ensure effective planning and execution of international trips.
US Region
Support the advancement of FCA's international strategy by executing the following responsibilities in their US region:
- Communicate FCA's international strategy, global engagement practices, and procedures clearly and consistently.
- Collaborate with the USRVP to review and determine how the region will support its aligned global region financially and strategically.
- Meet regularly with the USRVP to review global engagement opportunities, regional aims, progress toward goals, and global updates.
- Leverage regional, state and local meetings or gatherings to expose the U.S. region to aligned global ministry plans, priorities, and impact (ministry activities, stories, and highlights).
- Promote, coach, and encourage U.S. region staff to fulfill international engagement goals outlined in their ministry game plans.
- Mobilize and provide training, coaching, and guidance for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes pursuing international engagement through FCA, ensuring proper processes, procedures, and compliance.
- Prepare resources, equip and motivate staff to cast vision and invite local ministry program participants to consider investing in our international ministry strategy, praying and serving consistently with the aligned global region's ministry plans and priorities.
- Cultivate awareness of God's heart for the nations through teaching, coaching and an official presentation.
- Develop and implement a regional prayer strategy. This may include regional prayer calls, 24-hour prayer and ongoing prayer strategies for global ministry.
- Effectively communicate the global region's ministry impact, vision, and needs to donors and stakeholders.
- Work with the Regional Director of Donor & Board Advancement (RDDBA) to develop strategies, plans, and goals for cultivating resources and donor relationships to support global ministry.
- Trips training and compliance:
- Communicate opportunities for U.S. region participants to serve on trips aligned with the global region's ministry plan.
- Train and inform the U.S. region on trip registration, preparation, processes, and protocols.
- Provide guidance and situational awareness related to international travel.
- Inform trip participants on cultural dynamics that can impact the execution of trip goals and objectives related to ministry programs in the country.
- Monitor trip execution to ensure compliance with FCA's global engagement standards.
- Ensure U.S. region participation in global ministry trips follows FCA's engagement process.
- Coordinate with RDIAs in other regions to support participants desiring to engage with countries outside the aligned global region.
Global Region
Act as the heart, voice, and advocate of the aligned global region to the U.S. region by executing the following responsibilities:
- Fulfill the FCA vision by recruiting, training and developing indigenous leaders around the world to collaborate in the pursuit of our mission.
- Maintain a healthy and collaborative working relationship with the aligned International Division Staff (IRVP/IDVP/Country Director).
- Meet regularly with IRVP/IDVP/Country Director leadership to discuss global and U.S. ministry updates, regional goals and progress and strategic alignment and priorities.
- Support and promote the vision and strategies of the aligned global region or division.
- Participate in approved Sport, Training and Vision Trips to the aligned global region to support ministry efforts or provide training.
- Help coordinate visits of international leaders to the U.S. in collaboration with global leadership and in alignment with the ISAPs ministry plan.
- Help coordinate, training, support and care for international leaders visiting the US.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the history, demographics, cultural context, and political climate of countries within the aligned global region.
Leadership Development
- Build and lead a team of key leaders in the US region who assist in advancing global engagement efforts.
- Develop and steward an advisory board passionate about international ministry.
- Be active member of the local church and serve the body of Christ.
Financial Stewardship
- Establish and execute an annual funding plan by developing a Home Team, Major Donors and/or hosting events.
- Submit an annual budget for all expenses assigned by the supervisor.
- Communicate and ensure the proper stewardship of funds given for the aligned global region/division.
