Primary Purpose:
Enhances system reliability and performance by executing advanced support tasks, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and assisting with implementation of modernization technologies. Provides accurate field data and feedback to support engineering and planning decisions. 

The Project Specialist supports the Solar Express program within Service Planning. The role involves internal research and field check coordination before preparing and issuing the service order to the customer. This position can serve as a steppingstone to the Planner role, offering hands‑on experience with service planning processes and customer coordination. This position is available at various district locations. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides project control, tracking, documentation, and planning assistance; performs detailed review of work orders and verifies supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyzes routine operational data to identify discrepancies and recommends corrective actions based on established practices.
• Maintains and updates planning models and system records to ensure reliability and consistency.
• Explains complex scheduling or operational details to team members and resolves issues that arise in atypical situations.
• Supports implementation of grid modernization technologies such as smart meters and automated controls.
• Collaborates with engineering and planning teams by providing accurate field data and feedback on system performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically requires 3 years of related experience.

• Energy Distribution Systems Management - The process of managing and operating the most economical energy distribution systems or networks to meet defined performance goals.
• Customer Service Management - Supports customers both before and after they buy and use products or services that helps them have a positive experience.
• Contract Management - Streamlining the creation, execution, storage or renewal of contracts, with a focus on compliance, often via software or other automated means.
• Resource Optimization - The process of allocating and managing resources in the most efficient way possible.
• Data Management - A process which includes acquiring, validating, storing, protecting, and processing required data.
• Vendor Management - Overseeing relationships with key vendors and partner organizations that deliver products, services, and support to the business. Negotiating and managing contracts with key service providers to ensure service levels are set appropriately and met on an ongoing basis.
