About the role

Primary Purpose
Executes complex corrosion and integrity engineering activities to assess asset condition and prevent failures. Integrates inspection data, analytical methods, and operational inputs to inform mitigation plans and integrity decisions aligned to safety and compliance standards. Works independently within established frameworks and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzes corrosion data and inspection results to identify degradation mechanisms and risk drivers.
Develops integrity assessments and recommends mitigation strategies for corrosion-related threats.
Designs corrosion monitoring plans tailored to asset type, environment, and operational conditions.
Evaluates cathodic protection performance and recommends adjustments or corrective actions.
Reviews material selection and coating system performance for repairs or new installations.
Supports failure investigations and root cause analyses related to corrosion or material degradation.
Prepares technical reports and presents findings to operations, engineering, and management stakeholders.
Mentors less experienced staff on corrosion fundamentals, inspection interpretation, and integrity practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Required: Requires a 4 year degree in a relevant engineering field.

Experience

Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required: Corrosion Risk Assessment - The process of evaluating the potential for corrosion in industrial systems and infrastructure, such as pipelines and equipment, to prevent material degradation and failures.
Required: Pipeline Integrity Management - Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of pipeline systems through systematic monitoring, maintenance, and risk assessment.
Required: Corrosion Engineering - Understanding, preventing, and managing the degradation of materials due to chemical or electrochemical reactions with their environment.
Required: Corrosion Control - Implementing processes and methods of combating corrosion by protecting metals against corrosion.
Required: Non-destructive Testing (NDT) - The process of inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components, or assemblies for discontinuities, defects, or other imperfections without causing damage to the tested object.
Required: Failure Analysis - Examining evidence of defects to verify the causes of failure as well as identify the failure modes.
Required: Asset Integrity Management - A systematic process of developing, operating, maintaining, upgrading, and disposing of assets in the most cost-effective manner (including all costs, risks and performance attributes).
Required: Inspection Management - A critical process of quality control that involves measuring, examining, and reviewing materials against standard requirements to ensure materials or components conform to the standards and latest guidelines.
Required: Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
Required: Condition Monitoring - The process of monitoring a particular condition in machinery to identify changes that could indicate a developing fault.
