About the role

The Quality organization is seeking a Quality Manager to lead a cross functional team responsible for overseeing the end-to-end quality progression, issue resolution, and closure of customer facing issues related to Technical Service Operations (TSO), with a focus on engineering functions.

The role ensures robust root cause identification, corrective action implementation, and effective closure of field issues impacting customer satisfaction.

The Manager will lead a cross-functional team and collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Service organizations to ensure timely escalation, ownership alignment, and closure of customer issues through disciplined engineering processes and data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate is a strategic people leader with deep automotive engineering and quality experience, a strong foundation in structured problem-solving, and a passion for driving accountability, continuous improvement, and best-in-class resolution performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross functional team responsible for resolving customer facing quality issues, driving resolution progress, and ensuring timely and effective closure
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of field design issues, ensuring clear ownership, engineering engagement, and adherence to resolution timelines
  • Drive engineering-based root cause investigation and corrective action validation, ensuring technical rigor and completeness of solutions
  • Ensure alignment between Service, Engineering and Quality teams on issue status, risk assessment, and closure readiness
  • Establish priorities and governance for TSO issue tracking, escalation, and resolution performance
  • Oversee and approve resolution strategies, containment actions, and final closures, ensuring all actions meet internal quality and customer satisfaction requirements
  • Monitor and manage quality progress metrics and KPIs, resolution aging, and closure effectiveness, driving accountability across all responsible functions
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing resolution cycle time.
  • Support a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and engineering excellence across the organization

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Quality, Service Engineering, or related disciplines
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, including direct team management
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis, corrective action methodologies, and engineering problem-solving tools
  • Proven experience managing issue resolution lifecycle and cross-functional coordination
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Broad automotive systems knowledge with emphasis on Design for serviceability
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with AI-driven quality analytics tools, predictive failure modeling, and data platforms (e.g., Python-based analytics, Power BI, machine learning applications) to proactively identify trends and accelerate issue resolution and closure.
  • Shainin RedX Black Belt or equivalent advanced problem-solving certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, Kepner-Tregoe, or similar methodologies
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with AI-driven quality analytics tools, predictive failure modeling, and data platforms (e.g., Python-based analytics, Power BI, machine learning applications) to proactively identify trends and accelerate issue resolution and closure.
  • Experience in testing, validation, service engineering, or field issue resolution processes
