About the role

About the Position: This position is located within the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Responsible for implementing, coordinating, and administering the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Infection Control Program.

Assess infection control standards and practices in the facility and its clinics.

Identify potential reservoirs for cross- contamination and performing environmental cultures as needed.

Observe control measures during infection outbreaks among patients or staff and manage the collection, reporting and documentation of infection control data.

Reviews and applies regulatory and accreditation standards related to infection control and ensures adherence to current infection control protocols based on established regulations and guidelines.

Suggests updates to hospital infection control policies and participates in reviewing and contributing to the evaluation and improvement of infection control guidelines within the facility.

Develops, coordinates and teaches infection control educational programs for requested and mandatory topics.

Serves as liaison among members of the Infection Control committee in clinical and non-clinical areas on infection control issues.

Oversees infection control nurses and surveillance technicians in the performance of Infection Control practices.
