About the Position: The incumbent of this position serves as Public Safety Telecommunicator for the US Army Installation Management Command, in the Directorate of Emergency Services Fire Protection and Prevention Division in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. ***Note: Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.***
Provide emergency services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment.
Monitor computerized fire alarm systems and other alarm systems such as Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (ICIDS) alarm systems
Maintain an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to ensure prompt and accurate response.
Operate Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system, telephones, radios, and station alerting systems.
Provide initial Incident command support until responding emergency units arrive on scene.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
