Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of the stability and scaling of backend production systems, blending infrastructure engineering, data pipeline work and application development. Participate in on-call coverage and incident handling while helping shape engineering practices as one of the first dedicated infrastructure hires.

What you'll do

- Keep distributed backend services dependable and able to grow with rising data volumes.

- Develop and refine data pipelines and the cloud infrastructure that supports them.

- Write automation, internal tooling and product features in a general-purpose language, partnering with product and design colleagues.

- Share in the on-call rotation, resolve customer-affecting problems and coordinate incident response.

- Strengthen infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation and monitoring so engineers can release quickly with confidence.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Background running live production environments in a reliability, platform, infrastructure or operations engineering role.

- Recent work history at an early-stage company.

- Solid coding ability in a language such as Python or Java for writing automation and operational services.

- Practical expertise with a major cloud provider and with defining infrastructure through code.

- Working knowledge of distributed systems and container orchestration.

- A university degree.

- Comfort with large data volumes and ambiguity, and the ability to ramp up fast with limited guidance.

- Willingness to work from the office 4 days per week.

- US work authorization.

- Prior experience building or growing a reliability function at a young or quickly expanding company.
