Job Description

As a Security Officer - Educational Facility, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a prominent public library location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, assist visitors with professionalism, and communicate clearly with staff and guests. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patrons, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout library facilities, public areas, staff spaces, entrances, and exterior perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly and welcoming environment by communicating site rules, directing visitors, and addressing concerns with professionalism and respect.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
