Maintenance Helper

Responsibilities

Mission Linen Supply is seeking a Maintenance Helper.  The Maintenance Helper is responsible for painting, maintaining surfaces throughout the facility and assisting the Maintenance Technician team.

The Maintenance Helper pay is $18.00 - $21.00 an hour. The starting pay is based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment.

Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of plant equipment (washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyors, boilers, and related systems)
• Help complete preventive maintenance and keep the shop and work areas clean and organized
• Support basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and welding tasks as assigned
• Assist with boiler chemical testing and adjustments under direction of maintenance staff
• Follow lockout/tagout and all plant safety procedures
• Maintain and monitor wastewater chemistry and treatment parameters
• Help identify issues, report needed repairs, and keep simple maintenance records

REQUIRED SKILLS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial laundry equipment
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn: steam boilers, electrical, pneumatics, schematics, welding, and plumbing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced plant, stand for long periods, and lift 25–50 lbs
• Reliable attendance and a team-first attitude
• Maintenance, mechanical, or industrial experience is a plus (not required)
