Supervisory General Engineer

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory General Engineer with the Operations and Maintenance Division, Utilities & Energy Branch for the Directorate of Public Works at Ft Riley, KS.

Incumbent serves as a technical advisor to the installation Commander, the Director of Public Works, and as the Fort Riley point of contact with government and non-government representatives on all aspects of the Energy Management Program.

Reviews DA and DOD policy, congressional acts, local, state and Federal regulations, and statutes regarding monitoring and reducing the consumption of energy.

Advises the Installation Commander and the DPW on the energy program requirements to meet the energy reduction goals.

Serves as the technical advisor on all energy matters, principles, developments, and applications relating to energy consuming equipment and systems.

Develops long range plans to provide required energy for mission including adaptation of alternative energy sources as substitutes for known declining resources.
