About the role

About the Position: The position is part-time (40 hours per pay period); Rotating Shifts; 12- Hours Shifts may include: 0645-1915/1845-0715; 8 hour shift may include: 0645-1515/1045-1915/1845-0315/2245-0715; nights/weekends/holidays - rotations may change every 3-6 months (Hours may vary at commands discretion) This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Assesses nursing needs and develops and implements a Plan of Care for each patient.

Provides comprehensive professional nursing care to critically ill patients in an ICU.

Responds decisively to life-threatening changes in patient condition, providing immediate and appropriate emergency measures.

Facilitator to mediate complaints and concerns of patients, family members and staff, taking immediate action to resolve or refer to a higher authority.

Recommends strategies to improve nursing unit organization and functions utilizing evidence-based practice.

Plans, delegates, and directs nursing care, based on patient care requirements and staff skill levels.

Functions as charge nurse of a particular shift on a recurring basis, assuming the responsibility for promoting quality, cost-effective nursing care.

Respond to all emergencies during the shift and responsible for advanced cardiac life support code team (ACLS/PALS/NRP/STABLE) management until arrival of physician.

Attendance at high-risk deliveries and Conducts Maternal-Fetal Assessment.

Provide neonatal resuscitation.

Neonatal and Adult Intravenous therapy.

Management of peripheral and umbilical IV lines, administration medications, maintenance of CPAP, and nasal gastric tubes for specialized feedings.

Assessment and care of premature and ill infants.

Circulates and scrubs for Cesarean Sections
