About the role

The Area Technical Training Manager (ATTM) for the Great Lakes, will develop staff to continuously improve their product knowledge and classroom skills. The Great Lakes ATTM will also lead our National VCO team of instructors. The ATTM will ensure efficient utilization of manpower at all training centers in region. Manage hiring process for instructors at all training centers in region. The ATTM will sample training class delivery by all instructors via student surveys and class observation (as necessary). Administer regional staff expense reports and provide guidance on Stellantis business expense policies. Coordinate Business Center training needs through Training Center instructors. Coordinate new model launch training with respective Business Center needs. Order tools and vehicle parts for all training centers in region. Coordinate Curriculum Planning Meetings with each Business Center to ensure dealership participation and assist dealerships with course selections for their staff. Participate in the Business Center Service & Parts Business Conferences and other regional dealership events to represent technical training and to obtain direct feedback from the dealerships and Business Centers. Work with and support Business Center needs in public relations events that are conducive to furthering the interest of youth in the automotive field (Mopar CAP and Mopar CAP LOCAL). Identify and prioritize component replacement needs for all training locations. Maintain and update furnishings, shop equipment, hand tools, and component needs for all training centers in-region. Support the national Course Development team by providing input. Support national Course Development team with instructor time allocation. Assist national realty management in property searches and negotiations with potential property owners for all regional training centers. Determine ongoing future realty needs for training center locations. Ensure compliance to safety and environmental requirements for all regional training center staff. Ensure efficient utilization of all training centers in-region and ensure proper maintenance is performed at all regional training centers. They will also maintain efficient invoice processing and operate within budget and oversee inventory record keeping.

Specific to the ATTM role in the Great Lakes, the ATTM will work closely with our partners at CTC (Headquarters) directly supporting all Performance Institute activities when needed. They will also continue to assist with coordinating the training of Technical Advisors (TA's), Field Service Consultants (FSC's), TSO, and a variety of other divisions within the company. The ATTM will also coordinate a yearly 4-week training program for the Chrysler Institute of Engineering.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • 3+ years' experience in technical training
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to the Auburn Hills, MI area
  • Knowledge of service diagnostic procedures
  • Excellent project management skills, self-directed and motivated
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional working relationships with both internal and external individuals and groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word, and SharePoint)
  • Ability to multitask and work in a rapid paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous dealership experience
  • Experience managing a remote team
  • Experience building strong relationships with corporate stakeholders
