About the role

We are hiring and building a Design & Manufacturing of Advanced Demonstrators (DMAD) team in North America. DMAD supports innovation across all Group entities and regions. We act as a strategic enabler for both upstream research phases and downstream development and industrial activities. Mission

Within the prototype development process, the role is responsible for:

  • Ensuring project requirements are addressed in terms of planning, scheduling, sourcing, and prototype build execution.
  • Ensuring prototype delivery.
  • Ensuring consistency between the Bill of Materials (BOM) and suppliers’ ability to deliver parts on time.
  • Coordinating prototype activities with the program team.
  • Ensuring suppliers of identified risk parts can meet project requirements according to planned schedules; prioritizing part deliveries during supplier disruptions; and keeping stakeholders informed on critical parts availability until issues are resolved.

Key Activities

  • Ensure project requirements are addressed within expected timelines.
  • Manage project change requests and adapt operating methods, facilities, and information systems accordingly.
  • Lead logistics services for all parts from demand definition through delivery to the customer.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure compliance with project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project Bill of Materials (BOM) consolidation and synthesis.
  • Oversee procurement service providers for procurement planning, purchasing activities, and ancillary requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate component sourcing activities.
  • Resolve process issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • Define planning convergence reviews for all project phases, subject to project manager approval.
  • Enforce Project and Engineering decisions and approve or reject requests based on schedule constraints.
  • Prioritize deliveries in case of quantity disputes.
  • Decide whether topics remain on meeting agendas based on business impact and information provided by stakeholders.

Working Relationships

  • Reports to the Prototype Unit Manager.
  • Interfaces with Prototype Architects, Purchasing, Logistics, Suppliers, Technical Project Managers, Design Engineering teams, and Physical Means Managers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in the Automotive Industry
  • Experience in Project Management (cross functional teams)
  • Knowledge of automotive design and development.
  • Knowledge of prototype sourcing and supply processes.
  • English: able to lead meetings in English
