Title: Maintenance Associate, Full-time (40 hrs./wk.)

Reports to:  Business Manager

Location: Church of Saint Patrick | Sarasota, FL

Classification: Hourly/ Non-exempt 

Overview

The Church of St. Patrick is seeking a Maintenance Associate who will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of maintenance for parish buildings and property.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops schedules for building maintenance, cleaning, sanitation, ordering of supplies and general upkeep of parish property.
  • Performs routine paint, electrical, lighting, plumbing, carpentry repairs, etc. along with preventative maintenance.
  • Provides general oversight of all contracts and activities pertaining to building and grounds operations including routine maintenance, new construction, renovation, remodeling, and any special services.
  • Responsible for set-up and break-down of tables and chairs for events and meetings.
  • Responds to emergency calls 24 hours a day.
  • Performs recording keeping activities.
  • Any other duties or special projects as assigned. 
  • Prior maintenance experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Plumbing or electric license desired.
  • Self-motivated individual able to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with vendors, staff, and parishioners.
  • Working knowledge of building equipment.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items.
  • Ability to life up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stretch, reach continuously throughout day.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Must secure Aerial Lift Certification within 30-days of hire.
  • Must pass a post offer DOV assigned physical exam.
