About the role

Lead the DREAM team's technical solutions network requirements in a technical management capacity, designing network architecture solutions and managing firewall/load balancer change requests through the governance processes.

  • Design network architecture changes for firewalls, load balancers, and connectivity solutions. 
  • Interface with agency firewall review board and governance committees.
  • Translate Interconnection Agreements into technical architecture diagrams.
  • Manage multiple concurrent change requests through organizational approval processes.
  • Identify security gaps in network designs and documentation. 
  • Capture technical requirements from stakeholder meetings and translate into architecture designs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 8-15 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field.

Other Job Specific Skills

Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of network connectivity: VPN, IPSEC, IP addressing, DNS, ports, protocols, and services
  • Strong knowledge of firewall and load balancer architecture (design-level, not hands-on configuration)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio for network architecture documentation
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-47 (Interconnection Security Agreements)

Management & Communication:

  • Proven ability to navigate bureaucratic approval processes and drive change requests to completion
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and tracking status
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including interfacing with client leadership
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear architecture documentation

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
