Plans and monitors complex field operations such as storm response, feeder reconfiguration, and equipment upgrades. Implements performance improvements and fosters a strong safety culture across multiple crews.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and supervises operational plans for multiple crews, coordinating complex maintenance and construction activities.
- Monitors performance metrics and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Oversees emergency response operations and high-risk field work, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Provides mentorship and advanced training to supervisors and field staff, reinforcing technical and safety standards.
- Collaborates with engineering, planning, and quality control teams to align field activities with project objectives.
- Manages inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring readiness for scheduled and unscheduled work.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Prepares reports on operational performance and resource utilization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
- Required: Ability to allocate crews, equipment, and resources effectively.
- Required: Ability to contribute to improvement of procedures and work practices.
- Required: Ability to gain cooperation across teams to achieve operational goals.
- Required: Knowledge of interactions between field execution and other functions.
- Required: Knowledge of section-level field operations planning and coordination.
- Required: Skill in interpreting operational metrics to improve field performance.
- Required: Skill in managing staffing and overtime considerations.
- Required: This position adheres to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as required by 49 CFR Part 40, 199, and 382, respectively. Applicants must meet all DOT requirements for safety-sensitive positions.
