Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, El Paso Field Office, El Paso Field Analysis and Intelligence Unit (FAIU), located in El Paso, Texas.
Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the U.S. Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen Homeland Security by performing law enforcement activities that enforce the laws and regulations related to the import and export of agriculture, commodities and baggage entering and/or exiting the United States. This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10). In this CBP Agriculture Specialist (Threat Analyst) position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals detecting and preventing terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the U.S. Typical work assignments include: Analyzing agriculture and biological threat information to identify high-risk travelers, cargo, conveyances, commodities, and pathways. Reviewing manifests, permits, certificates, entries, invoices, and related records to assess admissibility, compliance concerns, and inspection needs. Developing reports, bulletins, charts, and other analytical products to support targeting, operational planning, and leadership decisions. Handling law enforcement and intelligence information in authorized systems while following security, classification, and need-to-know requirements. Coordinating with port, field office, targeting, intelligence, government, international, and industry partners on agriculture and biological threat matters.
