This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States. Please note, CSC is not able to support remote work from locations outside the U.S. or mobile or RV-based. 

JOB SUMMARY: 
Serves as the primary point of contact for customers for orders once they are handed off from sales.  Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining shop production targets, maximizing profitability for each order, and being consistent with our corporate mission, values and department objectives. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   

  • Work on up to 60 projects and/or 9000 tons with limited guidance from Senior PM or PM managers. 
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with customers; coordinate activities with drafting/engineering, sales and estimating, shipping and production departments to determine project schedules.  
  • Have the ability to identify the makeup of a joist or girder along with differences of series. 
  • Be able to identify all deck types and their properties.   
  • Coordinate all aspects of sublet work:  specifications, detail drawings, material, delivery schedules, transportation, and invoicing.
  • Also make sure that all contractual requirements related to quality (including 3rd party inspections) and schedules are passed on to the subcontractor as a minimum. 
  • Ensure that CSC detailing department is supported by providing essential contract drawings and related information from customers or outside sources.
  • Ensure that the purchasing department has received the information or instructions related to sublet work such as galvanizing, bending, rolling, etc. as applicable. 
  • Comprehend and write Requests for Information from any department.  
  • Hold kick-off meeting with Production.  
  • Review comparison reports: research and prepare change orders based on verifiable information; follow-up on collection letters to customers and prepare processing forms and/or process extra credit.  
  • Process back charge forms in collaboration with various departments when claims are received.  
  • Review claims, document issues, and resolve claims in collaboration with management, who will grant final approval.  
  • Review charges, document issues, and provide management with the supporting documents necessary to review claims.  
  • Provides continuous improvement guidance and input to all departments. 
  • Research accounting issues as requested by the Accounting Manager.  
  • Prepares reports and correspondence for internal and external use. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance.   

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.  
  • Background in steel fabrication is required.  
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Strong communication skills, ability to provide information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels and customers.   
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.  
  • Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.  
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.   
  • Exceptional and proven organizational skills.   
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Must be able to effectively manage time.  
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.  
  • Must be able to schedule events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.  
  • Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction.  
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and other software.  
  • Ability to travel for necessary training, jobsite visits and local/regional customer locations. (10-20%)  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:    

  • Frequent communication with others to exchange information. 
  • Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. 
  • Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. 
  • Occasional adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions. 
  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. 
  • Constant use of computer for prolonged periods. 
  • Constantly thinking and processing information. 
  • Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

  • General office environment. 
  • May require occasional exposure to production areas with airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
  • Personal protection equipment is required when entering a manufacturing plant.
