ACCOUNTANT (SYSTEMS)

Serves as a DAI Time and Labor timekeeping accountant responsible for performing high level analysis and solving complex financial and accounting timekeeping situations/problems.

Assesses the integration of multiple systems and develops recommendations involving substantive impact on policies, procedures, systems, and operations of site organizations and the agency.

Assists in conducting meetings, seminars, training sessions, and workshops for training purposes in response to mission needs. Monitors and leads projects across DFAS; ensures effective and timely accomplishment of such projects.

Conducts operational reviews for all assigned financial management to ensure accuracy of data, detect inconsistencies in processing and management reports, and improve internal controls.

Performs reviews and communicate results of financial systems with enterprise-wide application requiring a high degree of analytical and evaluative skills, as well as originality and advisory abilities.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html). Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level. This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program as a condition of employment. If you are selected, you will have to obtain this certification within two (2) years of your entry on duty in the position unless you are already in a position that requires a Level 2 Certification in which case you must complete the certification within the original 2-year period. Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service.
