Master Guide / Director
About the role
Master Guide / Director
Slope School | Full-Time | Starting at $80,000 + Benefits
Join a school reimagining education
Slope School is building a different kind of learning environment—one where students take ownership of their learning, families are deeply aligned with the mission, and educators are trusted as professionals.
We are looking for early-career educators who want to learn quickly, take on meaningful responsibility, and develop into exceptional teachers.
About the Role
A Master Guide / Director is both an exceptional classroom educator and a school leader. This remains a hands-on, student-facing role, while adding responsibility for developing other Guides, strengthening campus culture and systems, supporting enrollment, and helping the campus operate effectively.
This position is reserved for highly experienced educators who have already demonstrated meaningful leadership beyond their own classroom.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a studio and model exceptional teaching and classroom leadership
- Drive strong academic outcomes and a culture of ownership, respect, and accountability
- Coach and develop Apprentice and Lead Guides through observation, feedback, and modeling
- Maintain high standards across the campus and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support campus operations, planning, and budget management
- Support enrollment through prospective-family tours and assessing student and family fit
- Partner closely with school leadership on campus priorities and execution
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10+ years of teaching experience
- Bachelor’s degree or formal teaching qualification
- A track record of exceptional classroom leadership
- Meaningful prior leadership responsibility within a school or other organization
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop other adults
- Exceptional judgment, communication, organization, and follow-through
- High ownership and an “at-cause” mindset
- Ability to balance warmth, high standards, and accountability
Why Slope?
This role offers experienced educators the opportunity to remain close to students while having broader influence over a school. You’ll have significant autonomy, work with aligned families and a strong team, and help shape both educational practice and campus operations without the layers of bureaucracy found in larger school systems.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting at $80,000 + benefits, with compensation dependent on experience. Benefits include a health stipend, tuition benefits for children, generous PTO, and paid school vacations.
