About the role

About the Position: Position works under the general supervision of the Range Operations Branch Chief within the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility and Security (DPTMS) on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Use computer based communication system to control daily installation activity.

Read military map coordinates to find locations on a military installation.

Interpret military overlays to maintain range safety.

Interpret safety policies to allow access to training center.

Operate range safety radio network to control live fire training operations.

Disseminate information to users of range complex to provide situational awareness.

Maintain communication with emergency services to aid customer.

Provide information to supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignment, recognition of outstanding performance and personnel needs.
