This hands-on role runs the in-house, digital-first content studio; manages editors, motion designers, and outside production partners; and turns creative ideas into high-quality video and motion content for social, ecommerce, retail, and brand campaigns. The role is accountable for maintaining quality while delivering content quickly and at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pre-production, including concepts, scripts, storyboards, shot lists, casting, locations, and scheduling.
  • Direct and produce on-set shoots for product demonstrations, how-to content, lifestyle content, social-first content, and campaigns.
  • Turn larger productions into social-ready cutdowns for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Amazon, and retailer platforms.
  • Run the in-house content studio day to day, including booking, set readiness, equipment, props, maintenance, and safety.
  • Optimize studio capacity across Beauty and Culinary to improve throughput and value, and recommend equipment, upgrades, and workflow improvements.
  • Oversee editing workflows for pacing, story, sound, color, and brand consistency; establish editing standards, templates, and version control.
  • Ensure final assets are delivered to the correct specifications and tagged accurately in the DAM.
  • Lead motion graphics and animation, including product animation, kinetic type, explainers, and social motion; partner with Creative Directors to establish a distinct motion language for each brand.
  • Explore new tools, including AI-enabled production, to improve speed and expand creative range.
  • Manage agencies, production companies, freelance crews, editors, animators, and talent; scope projects, negotiate rates, approve estimates, and hold partners accountable for on-brand, on-time delivery.
  • Build and maintain a trusted bench of freelance and creator resources.
  • Lead, coach, and develop video editors, motion designers, production assistants, and content creators; provide clear creative direction and feedback and set high craft standards.
  • Support resource planning, hiring, and performance management.
  • Own the video and studio production budget, including spend tracking, purchase order processing, and savings identification.
  • Partner with Creative Operations on intake, prioritization, timelines, and workflow; report on output, turnaround times, and spend.
  • Partner with Creative, Brand Marketing, Ecommerce, Social, PR, Product Development, and Legal to align content with launches, retail moments, and the content calendar.
  • Drive higher video and motion output, faster turnaround, efficient studio utilization, consistent on-brand execution, on-time and on-budget delivery, controlled outside spend, a motivated team, and a reliable network of external partners.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of video production experience, including at least 3 years managing a studio or in-house content team.
  • A strong reel demonstrating directing, producing, editing, and motion work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Hands-on knowledge of cameras, lighting, audio, and studio equipment.
  • Proven experience managing agencies, freelancers, and production budgets.
  • Strong understanding of social-first formats and platform trends.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple productions simultaneously, and calm under pressure.
