About the role

Primary Purpose
Manages defined transportation activities such as route planning, carrier coordination, cost analysis, or compliance checks. Applies technical judgment to reduce service failures, improve routing efficiency, and maintain accurate shipment and driver records.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Designs and maintains regional route plans; measures adherence and iterates to reduce miles and dwell.
  • Coordinates routine lanes for a carrier set; tracks performance and resolves issues.
  • Conducts freight‑bill and accessorial audits; recommends cost‑avoidance actions.
  • Coordinates minor continuous‑improvement projects (dock flow, appointment rules).
  • Partners with compliance staff to validate driver file completeness for the assigned area.
  • Produces monthly KPI reports and presents trends with recommended actions.
  • Tests transportation management system (TMS) configuration changes and documents user procedures.
  • Supports seasonal capacity plans and surge provider assignments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education
  • Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
  • Required: Typically requires 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Required: Ability to apply regulations and internal policies to day-to-day administrative decisions.
  • Required: Ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines.
  • Required: Ability to prioritize competing service requests in time-sensitive environments.
  • Required: Knowledge of transportation scheduling constraints and resource dependencies.
  • Required: Knowledge of transportation services workflows, including vendor coordination and service request management.
  • Required: Skill in analyzing routine service data to identify issues or trends.
  • Required: Skill in collaborating with cross-functional transportation or facilities teams.
