About the role

Responsible for managing and coordinating estimating activities. Supervise staff to complete requested
quotes from sales representatives and external customers per company requirements.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Supervise and coordinate all activities of the Estimating with assigned region to support regional sales territories.
• Communicate and coordinate with the sales managers and sales representatives on what projects meet the company needs and capabilities.
• Assist the project management team with estimating of change orders.
• Develop estimates from conceptual drawings with limited information.
• Oversee the design and checking of estimates to ensure estimators are following all the requirements of applicable specifications and codes (SJI, SDI, AISC, IBC, etc).
• Meet departmental objectives as set in conjunction with overall CSC objectives.
• Assist subordinates in performing duties.
• Implement and enforce all company rules and regulations.
• Communicate and coordinate workloads, utilization of resources, and training with other estimation supervisors.
• Provide corrective actions concentrating on improving the quality and efficiency of department and division and participate in site wide continuous improvement activities.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, practices, and applicable laws.
• Monitor employee performance; build and maintain the team; coach members for top performance.
• Maintain a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, co-workers, clients, and supervisors.
• Manage direct reports through coaching and supporting their training, development, and productivity.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Previous experience managing a team preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering preferred.
• Ability to speak effectively with both internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical procedures.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• PC skills include the following software: Microsoft Software Suite & Bluebeam.
• Ability to travel for training when necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
• Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Occasional adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
• Constantly staying stationary, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Constant use of computer for prolonged periods.
• Constantly thinking and processing information.
• Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• General office environment.
• May require occasional exposure to production areas with airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold. Personal protection equipment is required when entering a manufacturing plant.
• May be a remote, office, or hybrid schedule as approved by supervisor.
