Job Description

As a Security Guard Observing Transit Stations in Manhattan, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a public transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a welcoming environment for employees, riders, and visitors while responding professionally to concerns and collaborating with the Allied Universal team. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to transit passengers, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, stations, entrances, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Monitor access points and pedestrian activity, report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations, and document incidents in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with crowd management and passenger flow during routine operations, service disruptions, special events, and emergency conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
