About the role

Senior Soldering Technician — Through-Hole & LED Assembly

Build the technology behind the wonder.

At WET, we bring water, movement, light, and imagination together to create experiences that connect people with the world—and with one another. Our work transforms public spaces into places of wonder, where engineering and artistry make the extraordinary possible.

From The Fountains of Bellagio to The Dubai Fountain, the experience begins long before the water moves or the lights come on. It starts with talented people who take pride in building every component with precision.

We are looking for a Senior Soldering Technician with strong through-hole soldering skills, hands-on electrical assembly experience, and a commitment to exceptional workmanship. Your work will help bring the LED lighting systems behind WET’s water features to life.

Your impact

You will assemble, solder, and test LED light heads, cables, and power supplies used across a variety of lighting configurations. This role combines detailed electronics work with mechanical assembly: building delicate components into complete, tested assemblies ready for their final destination.

Working alongside production and engineering teams, you will turn drawings, schematics, and work instructions into reliable hardware. Every connection, assembly, and test contributes to the quality of the final experience.

What you’ll do

  • Perform precision through-hole soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs), including component preparation, placement, soldering, and cleaning.
  • Inspect your workmanship for consistent solder joints, correct component placement, and assembly quality; identify and address defects according to approved procedures.
  • Assemble LED light heads, cable assemblies, connectors, and power supplies using electrical and mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Prepare, dress, route, terminate, and repair cables and connectors as required by assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Stage components, set up your workstation, and build lighting hardware from individual parts through completed assemblies.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, specifications, and test instructions.
  • Use small manual, powered, and pneumatic tools, along with calibrated torque wrenches, ohmmeters, and programming equipment.
  • Perform required electrical and functional checks, document results, and communicate assembly or test issues.
  • Handle fragile components and small assemblies with care throughout the build and test process.
  • Collaborate with production engineers to clarify build requirements, resolve assembly challenges, and document processes.
  • Complete work safely, accurately, and on schedule while maintaining an organized workstation.
  • Support related production activities as priorities evolve.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least five years of hands-on electrical or electronics assembly experience, with a strong emphasis on soldering.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in through-hole soldering and detailed PCB assembly.
  • Ability to read and follow drawings, schematics, assembly procedures, and test instructions.
  • Practical understanding of electrical connections and mechanical integration.
  • Experience using small assembly tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Careful workmanship, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle delicate components.
  • A collaborative approach to problem-solving and a sense of urgency that never compromises safety or quality.

Experience that stands out

  • Formal training in electronics assembly or soldering.
  • Advanced through-hole soldering and component rework experience.
  • Experience assembling LED lighting hardware, power supplies, or cable assemblies.
  • Familiarity with cable dressing, cable trays, conduit, and connector installation or repair.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment with changing build priorities.
  • A track record of helping engineering and production teams improve assembly methods and documentation.

Additional requirements

  • Ability to lift and move items weighing 30 pounds or more, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as production needs require.

Why WET?
