Inspection Assistant Coordinator
Position Summary
The Inspection Assistant Coordinator performs all Inspector responsibilities while cross-training to support the NCR Coordinator. This position inspects in-process materials and finished goods to verify compliance with customer and Schneller requirements. The role also assists with Non-Conforming Report (NCR) documentation, follow-up, communication, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, material control, and root-cause analysis.
Responsibilities may vary according to business needs. Final decisions regarding material disposition, NCR closure, and issue escalation remain with authorized personnel.
Essential Responsibilities

Demonstrate Schneller’s values and commitment to delivering high-quality products through effective, reliable processes.

Inspect materials to determine their acceptability for further processing or customer shipment.

Apply quality specifications and guidelines issued by Quality Assurance to verify that products meet established customer and Schneller requirements.
Inspection Responsibilities

Inspect, identify, document, and prepare excess material for placement in designated storage racks when quantities exceed the amount permitted for customer shipment.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and standards.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly maintained equipment to support product quality and a safe working environment.

Complete Inspector Reports, Quality Reports, Scrap Reports, Work Order Travelers, excess-stock tickets, and all other required electronic or paper documentation.

Prepare and apply required labels to sheet materials or to the inside of cores containing continuous material. Ensure labels include the material type, lot number, and all other required Schneller or customer information.

Provide test samples in sufficient quantities to complete all required testing.

Cut and prepare retained samples for historical, testing, and master-file documentation. Label each master and retained sample as required.

Enter labor and inventory transactions accurately and promptly using Schneller’s designated electronic or paper systems.

Perform other responsibilities as needed to support company goals.
Assistant NCR Coordinator Responsibilities

Review employee-generated NCR documentation promptly under the direction of the NCR Coordinator.

Gather missing information and assist in evaluating whether reprocessing, an additional production run, or review by a Production Supervisor, Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, or other authorized employee may be necessary.

Monitor NCR-related processes, identify potential improvement opportunities, and support assigned cross-functional action plans.

Communicate with Sales, as directed, to gather information about customer requirements and support decisions regarding the appropriate course of action.

Track outstanding NCR actions, follow up with responsible parties, and escalate delays or concerns to the NCR Coordinator to support timely resolution and customer communication.

Relay approved information to Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Planning so that required reprocessing or production reruns can be scheduled. Follow up on assigned actions to help ensure completion.

Coordinate with utility operators to move affected material to designated quality-control hold areas and complete the required documentation and labeling.

Update NCR records with complete and accurate information.

Verify the original disposition with the NCR Coordinator or other authorized personnel, correct documentation as directed, and close NCRs only after receiving authorization and confirming that all required actions have been completed.

Support root-cause analyses of nonconforming material and provide samples for evaluation as needed.
Experience
-
Two years of manufacturing experience with an emphasis on quality is preferred.
Qualifications and Requirements

Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations, including adding and subtracting fractions.

Ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Ability to work independently while supporting production requirements and customer satisfaction.

Strong sense of urgency and customer focus, with effective problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Ability to understand and consistently apply relevant business procedures and company policies.

Strong communication, collaboration, and team-oriented skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people.

Moderate to advanced computer skills, including experience using ERP systems and other business applications to record transactions, retrieve production information, and perform other responsibilities of the position.

Ability to obtain and maintain Schneller Certified Color Inspector certification. This certification authorizes the employee to approve color based on knowledge of Schneller color specifications and the guidelines established in BMS and is mandatory for the position.

To comply with U.S. export-control regulations, including ITAR § 120.15 and EAR Part 772, candidates must be eligible to obtain any required authorizations from the U.S. government.
