About the role

The Lead Medical Support Assistant (MSA) under Community Care service line monitors and makes work assignments, provides input on performance, resolves daily workplace issues and maintains efficient workflow in the Community Care office. The Lead, MSA serves as a Consult Coordinator for Community Care Program. The MSA works collaboratively with other members of an expanded health care team to provide a robust interdisciplinary approach to care.

VA Careers - Medical Support Assistant: https://youtube.com/embed/EE9c4XkaELo Duties include but are not be limited to: Assures coverage of all areas of responsibility; conducting ongoing reviews to ensure quality of work Ensures accurate and timely authorization of all Community Care and Non VA Care encounters Ensures accurate and timely scheduling of Community Care and Non VA Care appointments Provides guidance to staff members, to include changes in policies and procedures Distributes and balances workload Creates and maintains employee work schedules Orients and provides on-the-job training for new and current employees Ensures that all training requirements are met Organizes the work structure of his/her assigned areas Acts as liaison between other MSA's and staff in order to resolve day-to-day conflicts Orients medical staff to basic administrative policies and procedures dealing with outpatient scheduling and other administrative topics. Provides administrative support to Physicians, Physician's Assistants, Nurses, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners, Dieticians, Social Workers, and other administrative and professional staff throughout the Primary Care Service area Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30AM-4:00PM or 8:00AM-4:30PM Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
