Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice while maintaining a safe and sterile surgical environment. The Registered Nurse works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team to coordinate patient care and respond quickly to changes in the patient’s condition. Responsibilities include circulating duties, patient positioning, maintaining accurate documentation and surgical counts, and supporting infection prevention and safety standards. The Registered Nurse also provides patient and family education, maintains professional nursing standards, and protects patient privacy and confidentiality while ensuring safe, effective care before, during, and immediately following surgical procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
3. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
4. Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
5. Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
6. Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
