Primary Purpose
Performs complex analyses and develops recommendations that enhance grid reliability and optimize system performance under varying conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Frequent, independent driving to meetings, company locations, field locations and/or active incidents sites while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance with traffic laws is essential to this position and cannot reasonably be accomplished via alternative transportation. Qualifications

Performs complex analyses and develops recommendations that enhance grid reliability and optimize system performance under varying conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies and addresses thermal overloads on distribution circuits and substations using load projections and develops project scopes to mitigate peak-time issues.
- Performs voltage and reliability studies using specialized software to recommend corrective actions for existing and proposed circuits.
- Monitors and improves system reliability by identifying underperforming assets and implementing targeted solutions.
- Ensures regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal standards in all grid planning and construction activities.
- Prepares detailed technical reports summarizing study methodologies, findings, and actionable recommendations.
- Stays informed on energy market trends and adjusts planning strategies to align with evolving industry conditions.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to gather input and ensure coordinated planning efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
- Requires a 4 year degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Typically requires 5 years of related experience.

- Stakeholder Management - The process of organizing, monitoring and improving relationships with stakeholders.
- Power Systems Performance Monitoring - Tracking and evaluating data on power systems and their components in order to optimize the system.
- Power Flow Analysis and Modeling - A quantitative analysis of the flow of power in an interconnected system.
- Project/Program Management - The process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time.
- Data Analysis - Measuring and managing organization data, identifying methodological best practices and conducting statistical analyses.
- Technical Reporting - A form of subjective and formal report that presents the objectives, processes, and results of technical work.
- Feasibility Studies - An assessment of the practicality of a proposed plan or project. A feasibility study analyzes the viability of a project to determine whether the project or venture is likely to succeed.
- A valid California driver's license is required.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required.
