About the role

The Economics Manager is responsible for managing the overall ASC modules wave financials.  This includes cost loops and assessments for programs from Pre-Contract Commitment until handover to Serial Life. The role will report both to  ASC worldwide Program Economics manager for modules worldwide synergies and consistency and to ASC CME for NA projects based in US.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the target development process to ensure Total Production Cost and supplier tooling costs are complete and rational to support the business case
  • Achieve ER&D, Labor, and CAPEX financial objectives
  • Lead budget forecast and reporting activities for ER&D, Labor, and CAPEX
  • Work with multiple cross functional organizations and all levels of management from senior executives to product Design and Release Engineers
  • Responsible for creation of component variable and investment targets within key systems to support the sourcing process per plan
  • Responsible for the review and approval of program ER&D requisitions to ensure program financial objectives are met 
  • Responsible for TPC project targets in RFQ in consistency with cost book.

Critical skills:

  • Develop component level cost targets, applying vehicle top -down budget allocation
  • Understand and apply reference vehicle data and Best Cost Country savings to EBOM component level data
  • Understanding of vehicle construction by system (Body, Chassis, Powertrain, Interior, etc.) and subsystems (Mechatronics, EE, etc.)
  • Ability to identify and organize technical commodities into their functional groups
  • Identify and propose design alternatives to meet and exceed aggressive cost targets
  • Lead cross functional team reviews of cost status to target, component sourcing, and governance cost report outs
  • Working knowledge of component timing and cost
  • Knowledge of VEMO Budget Project Framing & convergence process 
  • Knowledge of CTPC TPC Project Framing & convergence process

  • Product Cost Study (PCS) CPA Year over Year Tool
  • Global Sourcing Tool (GST) & Sourcing Offset Forms

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Finance or Engineering or related degree field
  • A minimum of 10 years of overall experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of Automotive Industry experience
  • Experience and understanding of the vehicle cost process (SCIE / VCE)
  • Experience in vehicle / component design / release engineering, vehicle finance cost, program management, and / or component cost analysis
  • Experience in team leadership and cross-functional coordination
  • Very strong presentation / communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage and direct budget matters
  • Strong time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to motivate and lead people that do not report directly to you
  • MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering vehicle cost analysis experience
  • Tooling and variable cost estimating
  • Familiarity with finance terminology
  • Experience using Stellantis financial management systems
  • Advanced technical, finance or management degree
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
