Nurse (Perioperative/Ambulatory)

About the Position: This position resides within the Surgical Services, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, located at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Plan, develop, and implement individualized nursing care for surgical patients of all age groups based on comprehensive nursing assessments and post-anesthesia care principles.

Provide nursing care to all types of patients undergoing anesthesia treatment (general, regional, local, or sedation analgesia) and monitor arterial and venous lines.

Observe and assess patient condition, recognize subtle changes, interpret their significance, and use professional judgment to take appropriate and necessary action.

Administer, titrate, and monitor potent vasoactive medications, oxygen, intravenous medication/fluid, paralytic agents, and blood/blood products in accordance with facility policies and professional standards.

Make necessary decisions and implement proper emergency measures after identifying and interpreting life-threatening conditions.
