About the role

The Building Maintenance Coordinator is a member of the Facilities Department responsible for supporting the core infrastructure functions of the office, including garbage and shredders, sanitation, move management, maintenance, and repairs of the Society’s physical space, furniture and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs preventive building maintenance duties (Daily, Monthly, Weekly, and Quarterly)
  • Responsible for building or site repairs included but not limited to replacement of fixtures, doors, and locks, repairs door closures, patches holes in walls, paints interior walls and routine plumbing and electrical repairs
  • Assists and coordinates office setup and cleanout tasks i.e. office painting, furniture and equipment moving and assembly with the direction from the Practice Office Administrative staff
  • Assists in the relocation of furniture, supplies, and equipment, as needed
  • Acts as a point of contact with other departments and outside vendors on operational and facilities service requests
  • Manages and follows up on scheduled building maintenance and service requests
  • Supports the Facilities Supervisor with various projects and initiatives
  • Track and maintain Facilities Maintenance supplies and material inventories.
  • Execute assigned work orders.
  • Coordinate with property management as required to support maintenance needs.

SECONDARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Daily checklist prior and post shift per key areas within the facilities

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Familiar with a solutions based approach with the ability to escalate to licensed vendor when needed
  • Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge (voltage, amperage, resistance, wattage, circuitry, drain pipes/trap/venting, etc.)
  • Basic handyman knowledge (cleaning, light repairs/bulb-ballast replacement, painting, and equipment repairs, etc.)
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends, as required
  • OSHA certification preferred (10 hour minimum safety class)
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must thrive in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sense of professionalism, confidentiality, and a strong work ethic

SALARY AND BENEFITS 

The salary range represents a good faith estimate of the range we expect to pay for this role. The actual salary offered may vary depending on many factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as collectively bargained salary steps for unionized roles. 

Salary Range: $59,880 - $73,064
