Overview
The Permitting Project Manager provides advanced technical expertise in navigating Civil Site Plan and building permitting processes. This role is responsible for managing and reviewing permit applications, resolving compliance issues, conducting specialized research, and ensuring due diligence reports meet the highest technical standards. The Permitting Project Manager applies Civil Site Plan and building permitting processes to guide project teams and deliver accurate, timely permitting outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Manage preparation and submission of complex permit applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Review and quality-check permitting documents and due diligence reports prepared by other staff before client delivery.
- Track and manage permitting schedules for multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and milestones are consistently met.
- Coordinate with municipal staff to clarify technical requirements, resolve deficiencies, and address compliance matters.
- Conduct specialized due diligence research, including site constraints, utilities, and regulatory considerations, to support project feasibility.
- Integrate research findings into project permitting strategies and collaborate with engineers and planners to ensure designs meet regulatory standards.
- Attend regulatory agency meetings to address technical permitting questions and ensure project compliance.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to permitting staff to build team capabilities.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and permitting records.
- Perform additional permitting-related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive experience in civil site plan review, building permitting processes, and applicable municipal, county, and state regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and review complex permitting documentation with attention to technical detail.
- Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and resolving compliance issues.
- Proficiency in project management tools, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to others.
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.
